Conway seals podium finish at Spa-Francorchamps

Prosperity Investment Management’s Mike Conway claimed a third-place podium finish at the WEC season-opener in Spa-Francorchamps.

The reigning FIA World Endurance champion lined up on pole position for the inaugural race in the series’ new Hypercar category with the #7 leading the early phase of the race. An incident for Mike’s teammate meant the team lost ground to the race leaders but they fought valiantly to claim third place.

“It is tough to take the result because we were looking pretty solid halfway through the race. Unfortunately a couple of things happened and it took us out of contention. It's disappointing because we wanted to start the defence of our World Championship with a win and we had been doing well. However, it shows that the pace and the performance is there which is really promising as we look ahead to the rest of the season. Congratulations to car #8 for a strong performance and well done to the team for winning on the GR010 HYBRID's debut.”
